LYRA STRINGS CAMP AT CALLANWOLDE FINE ARTS CENTER JUNE 6- 10
Ages: Students should be at Suzuki Level Book 1 or 2 or equivalent.
Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
Join the fun and excitement of playing a stringed instrument in a dynamic group environment filled with games, songs, ear training, note-reading, and technique. This camp combines Suzuki and other methods in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary approach to ensemble playing. Students will have a chance to review and strengthen skills in daily semi-private lessons on their instrument. Students will also enjoy crafts and break times. Please note: children should have some prior instruction, Suzuki Book 1 or 2 or equivalent level. Each student is asked to provide his/her own snack each day.

This exciting new after-school program combines traditional classroom strings teaching with a multi-disciplinary approach, combining Suzuki and other teaching methods. This course offers the valuable opportunity to study a stringed instrument.
Children learn rhythm, pitch recognition, playing as part of an ensemble, fun musical classics and the basic elements of how to play a stringed instrument, all in a fun and relaxed learning environment. Students present a concert for family and friends on the last day of class.
